Vacancy available: we are hiring a bread and bun maker in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. The job is at a café with an on-site bakery. On the job you will handle: • Weigh and mix flour, yeast, water and salt to the day's recipe • Monitor oven temperature and baking time for each batch • Boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing • Roll out short-crust and biscuit dough • Decorate cakes with icing, fondant and fresh cream • Keep work surfaces and equipment clean to food-safety standards Ideal candidate: • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens • Knowledge of dough fermentation and proving • Able to lift 25 kg flour sacks At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
