Fire and safety officer • Halifax County, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Halifax County, Virginia. You will be based in a warehouse and logistics yard. You will run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date. Requirements: • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills Overtime paid at a premium rate.
