Gas commissioning technician — Shelby County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a gas commissioning technician in Shelby County, Alabama. You will be based in a gas distribution network. On the job you will handle: • Purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant • Fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances • Install flue and chimney terminals and check for adequate ventilation Ideal candidate: • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
