Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Dickinson County, Iowa. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time with occasional weekends.
