Ideal candidate: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) The role involves: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator Part-time with flexible hours.
