Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in City of Manassas Park, Virginia. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Day-to-day duties: • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints 6+ years on the tools preferred. $150 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
