Great opportunity: precision welder (Illinois)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a precision welder in Johnson County, Illinois. You will be based at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Day to day you will strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding. What we are looking for: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight 6+ years on the tools preferred. Performance bonus on top of base pay.
