Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick mason in City of Roanoke, Virginia. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. The role involves: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod Ideal candidate: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Rotating shifts.
