Requirements: • Comfortable handling and lifting glazed units safely • An eye for finish — no scratches, clean welds, flush beads • Knowledge of common hardware systems such as espagnolette and friction hinges Your main tasks: • Install finished windows and doors, pack and anchor-fix them, then foam and silicone the perimeter • Crimp glazing beads to length and snap them into the frame • Cut uPVC profiles to size on a double-mitre saw at 45 degrees • Fuse-weld frame and sash corners on the welding machine and check the weld seam • Take site measurements of openings before fabrication • Cut and weld mullions and transoms into the frame Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
