Great opportunity: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Grand Isle County, Vermont. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day to day you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale.
