Fabricator-welder — Akuku Toru

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Akuku Toru, Rivers State. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Your main tasks: • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
