Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixer in Hawkins County, Tennessee. You will be based on a busy residential building site. Ideal candidate: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Day-to-day duties: • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
