Furnace operator • Crook County, Wyoming

We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in Crook County, Wyoming. The job is in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day to day you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. Ideal candidate: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings 6+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
