Immediate opening: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Appanoose County, Iowa. You will work at a halal meat counter. What we are looking for: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • 2+ years experience working as a butcher Day to day you will take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone. 1+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
