Urgent requirement: finishing presser (Alaska)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a finishing presser in Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area, Alaska. You will be based in a tailoring workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Meet the daily piece target without damaging garments • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots Requirements: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine 2+ years on the tools preferred.
