Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Yancey County, North Carolina. The job is on an offshore oil and gas platform. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Day to day you will inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position.
