Now hiring: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Clarendon County, South Carolina. The job is on an offshore oil and gas platform. Requirements: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Day-to-day duties: • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit 6+ years on the tools preferred.
