We are recruiting: we are hiring a sample machinist in Dorset, England. You will be based in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Day to day you will topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes. Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Pay around £2,400 per project, based on your experience. Contact us to fix an interview.
