Immediate opening: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Cayuga County, New York. What we are looking for: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Comfortable working at height and inside confined spaces The role involves inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points.
