What we are looking for: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently Your main tasks: • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator Meals and transport allowance provided.
