Immediate opening: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. You will work at a manufacturing plant. Ideal candidate: • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot Day-to-day duties: • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors • Update the risk register and method statements (RAMS) • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports Performance bonus on top of base pay.
