The role involves set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper. Requirements: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Full-time, day shift.
