Now hiring: we are hiring a banksman in Montgomery County, New York. The job is in a steel fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Day to day you will take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
