Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Washington County, Mississippi. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Your main tasks: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
