Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welder in Alger County, Michigan. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. What we are looking for: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day-to-day duties: • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size $3,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
