Immediate opening: we are hiring a TIG welder in Imperial County, California. Requirements: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot The role involves: • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
