Now hiring: we are hiring a sample machinist in Contra Costa County, California. You will work on an export house sewing floor. The role involves: • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Performance bonus on top of base pay.
