The role involves: • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift Requirements: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear 4+ years on the tools preferred.
