Argon arc welder — Lincolnshire

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Lincolnshire, England. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. The role involves: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise What we are looking for: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage 5+ years on the tools preferred.
