We are recruiting: gas metal arc welder (Alaska)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Bethel Census Area, Alaska. On a typical shift you will change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration. Requirements: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
