Immediate opening: tig welder (Maryland)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a tig welder in Kent County, Maryland. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Your main tasks: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper You should have: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. $4,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
