Now hiring: we are hiring a banksman in Rock County, Nebraska. You will be based at a shipyard. You will set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; read lift plans and method statements before starting; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; guide loads through tight openings into their final position. You should have: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
