You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Day to day you will inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer.
