Brickwork mason • Gloucester County, Virginia

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Gloucester County, Virginia. You will work on a busy housing site. Day-to-day duties: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints Requirements: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Rotating shifts. $30 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
