Requirements: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day The role involves read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion.
