Confectioner — City of Leicester

Vacancy available: we are hiring a confectioner in City of Leicester, England. You will work in a hotel pastry kitchen. What we are looking for: • Accurate at weighing and following recipes • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen • Food handler / hygiene certificate Day to day you will knead and develop dough by hand and in the spiral mixer; boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing; prove dough in the proofer at the right temperature and humidity; decorate cakes with icing, fondant and fresh cream; load and unload the deck oven with a peel; laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
