Reinforcement steel fixer — Dorset

Immediate opening: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Dorset, England. You will be based on a busy residential building site. Day to day you will tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level £2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
