Core maker wanted in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Alaska. You will maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
