Metal caster • Ida County, Iowa

Vacancy available: we are hiring a metal caster in Ida County, Iowa. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. On the job you will handle: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
