Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Walker County, Georgia. You will be based in a steel fabrication yard. Day to day you will read lift plans and method statements before starting; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear. What we are looking for: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces 5+ years on the tools preferred.
