Now hiring: furnace operator (Kentucky)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a furnace operator in Madison County, Kentucky. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On a typical shift you will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
