Now hiring: we are hiring a gas appliance installer in Edwards County, Illinois. You will work in a gas distribution network. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion • Own hand tools and pipe wrenches On a typical shift you will braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints; check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray; fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances; install gas meters, regulators and isolation valves. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Pay around $3,800 per month, based on your experience. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Six days a week, one day off.
