Gang bricklayer • Boone County, Illinois

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in Boone County, Illinois. The job is on a scaffolded high-rise site. Requirements: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day The role involves: • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser 4+ years on the tools preferred.
