Great opportunity: ladle pourer (Louisiana)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On the job you will handle: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring $2,000 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
