Vacancy available: foundry labourer (Texas)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Armstrong County, Texas. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal $5,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
