You should have: • Confident with manual handling and load securing • Willing to take on night and multi-day trips Your main tasks: • Carry out daily walk-around vehicle checks before setting off • Couple and uncouple the trailer and check the fifth-wheel lock • Plan routes and rest stops in line with driving-hours rules • Present documents at weighbridges and check posts • Check tyre pressures, engine oil, coolant and brake fluid levels Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
