Now hiring: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Gratiot County, Michigan. You will work in a small denim manufacturing unit. On the job you will handle: • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift You should have: • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams Full-time with occasional weekends.
