Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Wythe County, Virginia. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Day-to-day duties: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Pay around $130 per day, based on your experience.
