Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Galveston County, Texas. You will work on a structural steel site. What we are looking for: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection On the job you will handle: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
