Vacancy available: wood machinist (Iowa)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a wood machinist in Fremont County, Iowa. You will be based on a residential housebuilding project. Your main tasks: • Fix studwork and plasterboard partitions • Build and erect roof trusses, rafters and stud partitions • Measure and mark out timber using a tape, square and marking gauge • Finish surfaces with varnish, wax, lacquer or wood stain • Plane and sand timber to a smooth, square finish • Check work for level, plumb and square with a spirit level What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of timber types, grades and fixings • Able to read technical drawings and cutting lists • Accurate to fine tolerances on finish work Full-time with occasional weekends.
